Lloyd Johnson of DBE (Welch) is a scoring lead guard that put the ball in the hole at a high clip. He threw in 20 points including 6 threes.
He’s a hidden South Ga gem that could play his way onto some college boards by the end of the summer.
Hypesouth + OTR 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗰
My final game of Day 2 at the @HoopSeen Main Event was easily the best battle I’ve seen all weekend, a full-blown war that needed extra frames and sudden death just to separate them. Redline UA Grind 17U went toe to toe with Devin Butts Elite (Culpepper) OTR in a game that had everything… runs, clutch shots, grit, and nonstop pressure on both ends.
Redline came out sharp early, moving the ball with purpose and making shots at a high clip to grab control. Their rhythm and efficiency gave them that early edge, but DBE never flinched. They settled in, started heating up from the outside, and answered every punch with one of their own. What started as a fast-paced offensive flow turned into a true back-and-forth fight, with Redline holding a narrow 37-33 lead at the break.
The second half turned into a straight slugfest. Every possession felt heavy, every bucket had to be earned, and neither side would give an inch. Stops, big shots, momentum swings… all of it. When the dust settled at the end of regulation, it was locked up at 62-62.
Over time, only turned the intensity up another level. Defense took over completely as both teams battled for every inch of space. Each side managed just one basket in the first OT, with pressure suffocating every look and forcing tough, contested attempts across the board.
Then came sudden death.
Redline had a chance to end it at the line but missed the free throw. DBE attacked the rim on the other end with three straight chances but couldn’t finish through traffic. Redline secured the rebound, pushed it ahead, and that’s when the moment hit. #1 grabbed the outlet and went to glass for a layup, slicing through a tough defensive man that was all over him, absorbed the contact, created just enough space, and finished at the rim to walk it off in dramatic fashion, sealing a 68-66 double OT win.
Redline was led by #17 @MilosCopic51080, who delivered a huge performance with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists, showing up when it mattered most.
DBE was powered by #14 @ZionLrmt22, who poured in a game-high 24 points, including 6 triples that kept them alive all game long. Teammate #4 @JayyevanJames added 18 points in a tough loss where they battled until the very end.
This wasn’t just a game… this was a war of will, toughness, and heart. The kind of matchup that reminds you why you love being in the gym.
