@poynton_j Great question. Sons shoulder is in line with Laportes foot. The ball playing parts of the body are the only parts taken in to account meaning the arms are taken out of the equation and therefore the goal should stand as onside.

@YorkshireBrass Hi, that's a good and fair question. We strive for consistency however you need to bear in mind that referees get a split second look at these incidents, and the profile of the player does not come in to the decision. Regards, Dermot.
@TheJaw123 @SkySportsNews @conorjude94 For me the referee was right not to give the penalty, but should have brought it back for a free kick out, and a yellow card for simulation.
