Sydney Gruters might have the D.C. machine behind her, but she has no chance against a proven grassroots fighter like Eddie Speir.
In 2024, Eddie took on 20-year incumbent Vern Buchanan and still pulled in about 40% of the vote in a GOP primary that was stacked in favor of the establishment. That kind of support doesn’t disappear—it grows, especially now that the seat is OPEN and voters are free to choose without an incumbent on the ballot.
Sydney’s only “qualification” is being the wife of the RNC chair and a longtime insider tied to the very establishment voters are sick of. Eddie has already shown he can go toe-to-toe with entrenched power and rally thousands of Republicans to his side without the backing of party bosses.
The reality: this race is @EddieSpeir vs. the swamp. And the base has already shown which side they’re on.
