Here are a few updates about @Descent_Game.

For those who don’t know, we recently restarted development on the game👀

A lot of people have been asking what has been happening, what happened in the past, and who actually owns Descent now, so I wanted to explain everything clearly.

Two years ago, @fabuss254Dev , @KenamiRBX , @Dem_X3ll3n , @RobxSoft , and I started developing Descent. It was originally meant to be a one-week project inspired by Lethal Company.
I agreed to help only for that one week, and after that week I had to step away from development. I still stayed involved around the project to give feedback, discuss ideas, and help with the lore. Fabuss, Kenami, X3ll3n, and RobxSoft continued working on it, but after a few weeks RobxSoft had to leave, leaving the remaining three to continue the project.

After more than six months of work, the game finally released. Because of the long development time and the constant focus on quality, the team ended up completely burned out. About a month after release, Fabuss told us he had to stop working on Descent. He did not actually want to abandon the project, but the burnout made it impossible for him to continue. None of us wanted the game to be left behind, but at that point nobody had the energy or motivation needed to keep pushing forward.

A few months later, Kenami tried to bring the game back and even bought it, but the workload was too heavy and too complex to handle alone.
X3ll3n always tried to help the game return as well, but since he is not a developer, he could not really push the project forward, even if he cared about it deeply.
As for me, I always kept an eye on Descent because I genuinely love the game and hoped to bring it back someday, but I never had the time to commit to it.

This changed three months ago when Rocket Fuel, a professional studio expanding into Roblox, offered me the position of Head of Roblox to oversee all production. That was the moment I realised it was finally possible to revive Descent.
With Kenami’s agreement, Rocket Fuel is now developing the upcoming updates under my direction. We have a complete lore ready to reveal and many updates planned.

So who owns Descent now? The answer is Kenami, X3ll3n and Rocket Fuel. Fabuss and Kenami are no longer involved in development, but they still assist us from time to time with technical details that only the original developers fully understand. They have been extremely helpful.
Zeeshan, our new developer from Rocket Fuel, is now responsible for coding the updates.

Now you know the full story behind Descent. The game did not have much luck over the years. It was a great project but extremely difficult to maintain. With the support of Rocket Fuel, we finally have the means to create something bigger. Our goals are to fix all known bugs, add new content, continue the lore, make the game playable on console, and much more.

X3ll3n and I are still the creative directors of Descent, and the vision remains true to the original.
