Here is our newest ringer Kate putting both strokes together for the first time at last week's practice - using the simulator as we were short of ringers!
This week, practice as normal tomorrow.
New recruit Kate came for her 1st experience of ringing this evening. Mark rigged up the camera in the bells so she could see what happens.
Almost ticked off level 2 for the other 3 learners.
Clock face reguilded - nice and shiny now!
Work on clock face has started, & 5th roller being fixed this week too.
Fun & laughter tonight ringing switcharoo, fade in/out, bells at opposite strokes plus more ph for Claire. Followed by chat in the pub!
5th out of action so practice night on handling, to help get learners past level2 LtR. Great progress made!
PLUS Claire rang plain hunt 3!
(Also finished feather dusting the cobwebs and emptied the bin)
Some nice ringing this morning helped by 2 friends from Kirby. Stedman, Cambridge, and St Clements.
Swarm of bees seen yesterday after wedding ringing still clumped on the tree branch in the churchyard.
Interesting start tonight, Dan rang treble up but instead of setting it kept going! Turns out the dongler had come off the stay. Found the nut at bottom of clock weight box. Pic shows the treble rung down with rope wrapped round the wheel.
8 in the tower this morning! All local ringers too. R&CC and PB5.
Started ringing up and discovered the trap under the bells was open, bells very loud. Much better once Mark had popped up to close it.
Our clock came back from Cumbria Clock Co @KeithScobie this week. Not striking yet due to small piece, that'll get fixed when they come back to rennovate the dial when the weather gets better.
Back to working out who's going to wind it!
