Hindus who converted to Islam retained a lot of remnant Hindu culture, mores, ornaments, dress, customs, food, etc which they tried to islamise by giving Islamic names, and thereafter falsely claiming as their own.

Further, they have been plagiarising a lot of Hindu knowledge and culture. For instance, a lot of Shahnaz beauty products with Islamic names are allegedly from Ayurvedic knowledge and Hindu alankara sastra. And long ago Arabs stole Hindu numerical system, mathematics, astronomy, etc.

Importantly, deserts are not exactly the conducive places for knowledge creation and sophisticated culture.
