You are NOT entitled to disregard the law, refuse to deliberate, and hold an entire trial hostage because you have already decided what you want the outcome to be.

After six weeks of testimony, more than 80 witnesses, hundreds of exhibits, and seven days of deliberations, Lindsay Clancy’s case has now ended in a mistrial.

This never should have happened.

If you have reasonable doubt, you follow the law. Period.

I am absolutely furious.

An 11–1 jury. One holdout juror. A juror who, according to the jury foreperson, acknowledged reasonable doubt but refused to apply it and reportedly refused to meaningfully deliberate with the other jurors.

That is not how our justice system is supposed to work.
