If you don’t approach your project with #InclusiveDesign in mind there is a danger you will lock some of us out. We are all different and want to be included ❤️
These transition plans should not be developed without the involvement of disabled people to ensure our needs are central. Spaces & places need to be inclusive & accessible to everyone & not place barriers in people’s way. Street furniture can & often does mean more barriers 🦽👩🦯
Did you know: many hearing aids only work within a distance of 1m. Worth keeping in mind during social distancing even with those you normally communicate with #StaySafe#GivePeopleSpace
@dundeecycling Please, through your networks ask cyclists to maintain the 2m space. Myself and most people I talk to are all having difficulties with cyclists breaching this & not slowing down when passing others. As a wheelchair user I have had to leave the path most days to avoid cyclists 🦽
Constructive full committee meeting today. We're focussed on contingency planning and how best to keep engaged with @scotgov Ministers & stakeholders during the #COVID19 crisis and push our work re #transport#accessibility issues affecting #disabled people. Stay tuned for more.
Happy Monday. I'm Hussein on the Twitter desk this week. I'm MACS Rail co-lead, Digital and liaison to DPTAC (our counterparts for England/Wales). I'll be keeping you keyed on our latest news and developments. Have a good week! https://t.co/Pb8IvVr4Br
Welcome from MACS convener @LindaBamford151
"We look forward to hearing from disabled people in Scotland about travel experiences, both what works and what doesn’t work so well. We’re determined that transport in Scotland should be available, accessible and affordable for all!”
MACS considers matters about the needs of disabled persons in connection with access and mobility. We want to hear from you, because your experience in this regard, whether it is positive or negative, shapes our advice to Scottish Ministers. 1/2
An important reminder to please capitalise the first letters of each word in your hashtags so those who use screen readers can read them properly. Example #Coronavirus is read out as Coro Navirus, whereas #CoronaVirus is read out as Corona Virus. Thank you #a11y

Dear Colleagues
In line with the UK (British) Government announcement at 5.00pm today (Mon 16 Mar), it is with much regret that we need to postpone our conference tomorrow (Tue 17 Mar). 👇
