I remember they were always slow to react to things, messed up on several occasions, but didn't seem malicious - just unsure of how to tread the line.

They should own up to this error though, or at least be transparent about the whys. Ffs.

I know everyone's angry at #Waterstones today, but they've faced down GC mobs before now. I remember being proud to be a bookseller a year ago when they championed Welcome to St Hell and didn't back down

As a book trade employee, watching Waterstones trending overnight has been saddening.

I hope there's more to the story, as this feels like an overreaction on their part! If it'd been from an official Waterstones store account I could understand a bit better, but it wasn't...
