Unpopular opinion:
As an American, I am embarrassed by the unprofessional conduct of the two American announcers on Fox - World Cup.

John Strong and Stu Holden are absolute and utter shite.

Strong: Play-by-play 101 means that you say the names of the players as they receive the ball and you comment on the play. Stop with the damn drama stories and reality television anecdotes that don’t mean shit. Mention their club. Mention how their season went. The first inform us give us the play by play.

Holden: Stop providing playing advice. You’re not on the pitch, so just stop. Your role is to offer insights regarding the laws of the game, snippets of information about their home clubs, and other player-centric issues without acting like “you would do it differently.”

If you’ve never worked announcing in the English leagues, you have no business being an announcer in the World Cup because you just don’t get it.

Period.

Whenever these two clowns are the announcers, I watched the match in Spanish and get so much more out of it.

Listening to them makes me want to chew my own arm off.

Bring out the Brits.
