Even if they're not breaking rules, it sometimes appears they are. I used to pay out of pocket for customers in need of something simple like a soda, but when word got to those above me they assumed every incident was me giving out free product without paying.

I cannot stress this enough. If a fast food employee goes above and beyond for you... NO THEY DID NOT. You do not brag to whoever is above them unless they ask. There is a good chance they're breaking the rules for you, and you're only going to get them in trouble
