Yesterday was one day I wouldn’t forget till I will leave this surface, it all started when @yabaleftonline posted the below video of a young girl who was helping his partially abled dad out at his vulcanizing workshop and I came across the video. Open thread 👇🏽
During my Law School, I sent money to a girl to visit me twice, but she didn't show up.
I slid into her DM on Twitter and made my intentions clear to her. We flirted and later agreed to meet each other.
But she lived in Lagos and I was far away in NLS Kano at that time.
Yesterday I saw my mum off at the airport, probably for the last time. She's getting too old for this 13hrs flight, and my lovely mother has refused to stay put in America.
She's been coming back and forth America for the last 22 years. She's spent cumulatively 15 of the last 22yrs in the state, she's not had to work for money in the last 10yrs or so and her needs are met (if she does, it's out of boredom).
This woman deserved every good things and more that we've been able to do for her.
I had a community father (man married 7 wives and had 23kids that we know of).
Growing up, this woman sleep for nothing more than 3-4hrs everyday of the week, jumping from one market to the other, selling what ever is in season just to support us.
Her favorite word is "ọmọ olè lè bí ń pá " Meaning only lazy one goes to bed hungry.
She has no formal education in this world, she had a twin brother and back then, only son education is seeing as productive, my mum would have cut her limbs to make sure all 7 of us got some education.
May you keep living long so we can keep spoiling you rotten.
I love you "ìyá alapo"
I would always love you Ejìrẹ.
Thank you for all you do, thank you for raising all 23kids of your late husband.
Thank you for waking me up 2am 3am to eat dinner because I was asleep before you got back from your long market trips.
Thank you for teaching my own sons our local dialect.
I thank God for answered prayer, because growing up, I prayed so much that I just want to be okay so you can stop hustling.
Dropping the "KANTE" video today, and I’m flooded with emotions. This isn’t just a release—it marks the end of our "Timeless" era. From every ticket sold to every city we visited, your love and energy turned every moment into history. We’ve faced everything—from sold-out shows and sleepless nights to the highest of highs and lowest of lows and through it all, GOD KEPT US STANDING!
To my fans and family - Thank you is not enough. Your support has been the backbone of this era. As we close this chapter, know that you fueled our journey.
The "Timeless" era is ending, but our story continues. New chapters, new music, new milestones await and I can't wait to step into them with you. WE ABOUT TO GO BIGGER THAN EVER 🌎🇳🇬

The Nigerian police arrested my brother today without justification, and at the station, they threatened him by brutalizing another person in front of him, demanding that he pay them 200,000 naira or face even harsher treatment. They even went so far as to open his mobile banking app, saw the money in his account, and then began threatening him, telling him that if he didn't pay them, he would be tortured. This is absolutely unacceptable and I am still trying to wrap my head around how law enforcement officers could resort to such cruel and extortionate tactics. Is this really how the law is enforced in our country? Are our citizens mere prey for corrupt officials to exploit and intimidate? Can we truly call ourselves a society governed by the rule of law when such blatant abuses of power go unchecked?
