@nakaycia @ENC2135Write I agree with this statement because the way a piece of media is portrayed determines whether or not it is widely accepted by the general population. It is important that the media is created and portrayed in a way that reaches and invites the entire audience. @ENC2135Write #sec80
Q: Drucker states that "literal materiality is a premise on which art practice and its critical and philosophical understanding must be based." Why do you think Drucker uses literal materiality as a basis for the understanding of different forms of media? @ENC2135Write #sec80
Q: Do you agree that opening a door to "analysis of sound outside of sense" has to exist in order for something to have meaning? Why or why not? #sec80 @ENC2135Write
The trailer I chose breaks the standard conventions in a couple of ways. First, the trailer has more comedic undertone than normal in a horror movie trailer. Secondly, the trailer has a known comedian in the trailer, along with other known comedians. @ENC2135Write #sec80
The trailer is like a horror movie trailer because it uses intense music at specific times in order to make the audience feel more frightened. Also, it is like a horror movie trailer because it gives a brief summary of the movie in a few short scenes. @ENC2135Write #sec80
This exhibit was extremely moving because it involved posters related to student protests against gun violence, and being a student makes itextremely relatable. One specific poster stated that it only takes one second for a child to lose their life to a gun. @ENC2135Write #sec80
Q: Do you believe that the education system needs to stop viewing things in a single form, but rather multiple communicative modes? Do you think this already occurs, and if not, how would this shift in thinking alter the thinking surrounding visual culture? @ENC2135Write #sec80
Q: Do you believe that it is necessary to understand that "the visual characteristics of contemporary cultural sites...involve other sign systems and appeal to multiple perceptual systems?" Can you give an example of this occurring in the real world? @ENC2135Write #sec80
@chelsea53270684 @ENC2135Write I believe that text is necessary when determining the meaning of a historical picture, but not every single picture. Some pictures are meant to allow the viewer to question the meaning and to determine their own individual take on it. @ENC2135Write #sec80
@Angelic31466769 @ENC2135Write I believe that my photo is closely related to representation and ideology. My photo represents certain ideals and beliefs, but also represents a certain group of people and what they stand for. @ENC2135Write #sec80
Q: Duncum finds that representation is โmore than a mere likeness.โ Do you feel as though the photo you chose for project two represents more? What exactly does it represent in your own words and how does it relate to the ideology behind your paper? @ENC2135Write #sec80
Q: What principle seems to be the most important in the โcomplexity of todayโs visually mediated world...โ? How has this principle evolved throughout time due to the complexities of modernization? @ENC2135Write #sec80
Conference Tweet: I learned that I have to be careful with the language I use when developing a more political topic. It is important to use neutral sources and language in order to further the main argument. @ENC2135Write #sec80
@Carolin94087132 @ENC2135Write Some people were unable to see the truth because of the way the media portrays the truth behind a story. The media has become extremely influential when it comes to the way society thinks about certain things. #sec80
@nakaycia @ENC2135Write Visual practices are way more influential over a person and their political thought because it is easier to access than other forms of media. This can cause problems when dealing with specific issues (social, political, etc.) because a picture can be interpreted in too many ways.
