When i first found out i contracted HIV my first thought was when would I die and what was going to happen to the baby growing in my stomach. 🤦🏾‍♀️😭

I also went through the five stages of grief but the one I remember most is the depression.

I couldn’t get up out of bed unless it was for work, i was already a single mom to a beautiful son working two jobs. Three people knew about my status but only I was going through this. I couldn’t take care of myself and every morning when I woke to get ready for work.

Hello my name is Destiny Smith I am a 27 year old black women living with HIV!

While Black people comprise only 13% of the U.S. population, they represent 40% of those living with HIV.
