Recently @timesofindia, @newskarnataka and many others covered @svembu urging families to set a verbal password for suspicious calls.

It's the right advice. But it's the starting point, not the solution!

A password protects you when the caller pretends to be family. But it won't do anything when the caller says they're a police officer holding your son, or your bank's fraud desk.

And this will only get worse from here:
Today a clone needs a few seconds of audio. Soon it'll hold a live conversation, in any language, and pause and answer as the real person would.

Families can start with a password. Banks, lenders, insurers and other institutions need something that doesn't depend on memory. That's what we're building at @detectifai.
