Question for artists: when you listen to beats from a producer, is there a certain structure you listen for, hook, verse, etc.? Do you prefer to hear the beat mastered?
@TayeOlusola It depends… when I’m in the booth, I expect the engineer to be everything an engineer should be for an artist, don’t have me sounding all crazy. It’s like any good relationship, communication is key and if I’m zoning out, they’ll pick up on those cues to let it happen.
@weluvupyrex One of the most significant points in what you said may actually be missed imo…. “Rappers”. More often than not, the hip-hop genre operates on the theme of hustling and if you look at other genres, they move much differently. Not your point I’m sure, but a point nonetheless.
Why I make music: I love how it makes me feel, an inexplicable joy takes over when it hits my ears. To be able to speak through music gives my heartbeat a voice, something I will cherish for the rest of my life. It doesn’t have to be popular, but to exist. https://t.co/d5rj1ZDQS4
