You can't be considered a world champion by simply playing in a national league. Similarly, the NBA is a national competition, despite featuring world-class players. It's essential to distinguish between national and international success."
Being a world champion isn't solely defined by having world-class players in your national league, John. Take Real Madrid, for example. They have the best football stars from around the world on their team, but they are only La Liga champions, not world champions.
Spain women and Argentina men won the @FIFAWorldCup, they are world champions. If USA win the @FIBAWC, they will be world champions. @LylesNoah won the 100 and 200 meters race, he is a world champion. NBA champions are just USA champions not world champions.
I disagree with you @stephenasmith NBA champions are not world champion. So the winner of the LNB Pro A league in France is also a world champion. @ManCity won the English premier league last season, are they world champions as well?
Most professional league around the world have international players competing in them. To be a world champion for me, is all about wearing your national colours and competing against athletes from another country.
