On 20 April 1994, Queen Rosalie Gicanda was killed and thousands who had sought refuge at Mugombwa Catholic Church were locked inside by Titiano Pagolalo, an Italian priest who gave the keys away to the killers.
All of them were subsequently killed.

Le 20 avril 1994, la reine Rosalie Gicanda a été tuée et des milliers de personnes qui avaient cherché refuge à l’église catholique de Mugombwa y ont été enfermées par Titiano Pagolalo, un prêtre italien qui a ensuite remis les clés aux tueurs. Ils ont tous été assassinés par la suite.

Mon père, Boniface Ngulinzira, ancien ministre des affaires étrangères du Rwanda fut également assassiné ce jour là. Nous avions chez nous une garde rapprochée des casques bleus belges, nous leur faisions confiance. Le 7 Avril 1994 ils nous ont évacué de notre domicile A LEUR INITIATIVE vers l’ETO pour nous y abandonner le 11 Avril.

Nous tentons de fuir l’ETO mais nous sommes vite rattrapés et mon père fut emmené par des militaires. Nous ne le reverrons jamais.

Des autorités belges annulent les commémorations prévues de longue date alors qu'elles se déroulent chaque année sans incident.

La Ville de Liège a annulé "pour éviter des affrontements entre Rwandais et Congolais".

Monsieur @WillyDemeyer (le bourgmestre) : les Rwandais de Belgique ne s'en sont JAMAIS pris à personne.

Aujourd'hui, la veille de l'évènement (!), la Chambre des représentants a annulé un colloque commémoratif qui se tient chaque année au parlement depuis 20 ans !

Il s'agit de COMMEMORATIONS d'un GENOCIDE reconnu par l'ONU qui ont lieu chaque année avec la participation de représentants des communautés juives et arméniennes ! Et nullement de meetings politiques.

Petitesse, lâcheté, bêtise et ignorance : honte à vous !

The memory of the genocide of the Tutsis in Rwanda held hostage by Belgian politicians

Belgian authorities are cancelling long-planned commemorations that have been held every year without incident.

The city of Liège has cancelled ‘to avoid clashes between Rwandans and Congolese’.

@WillyDemeyer (the mayor): Rwandans in Belgium have NEVER attacked anyone.

Today, the day before the event (!), the House of Representatives cancelled a commemorative symposium that has been held every year in the parliament for the past 20 years!

These are COMMEMORATIONS of a GENOCIDE recognised by the UN which take place every year with the participation of representatives of the Jewish and Armenian communities! They are not political meetings.

M23 - UE : LE SENS DU TIMING. (English below)
Aujourd'hui pour la première fois depuis longtemps, une réunion était prévue à Luanda à l'initiative du président de l'Angola, entre le gouvernement de Kinshasa et le M23, suscitant un (petit) espoir de paix en RDCongo.
Hier, l'Union européenne (UE) a pris des sanctions contre des cadres du M23 dont son président @bbisimwa torpillant ainsi la participation du M23/AFC à la réunion.
N'eût-il pas été sage d'attendre la résultat de ces négociations ?
N'aurait-il pas fallu laisser cette initiative africaine aller à son terme ?
Le néocolonialisme a la vie dure ! La bêtise aussi !

M23 - EU: A SENSE OF TIMING.
Today, for the first time in a long time, a meeting between the Kinshasa government and the M23 was scheduled to take place in Luanda at the initiative of the President of Angola, raising a (small) hope of peace in the DRCongo.
Yesterday, the European Union (EU) imposed sanctions against M23 leaders, including its president @bbisimwa, thereby torpedoing the participation of the M23/AFC in the meeting.
Would it not have been wise to wait for the outcome of these negotiations?
Shouldn't this African initiative have been allowed to run its course?
Neo-colonialism lives on! So is stupidity!
Well done again to the EU!
