Women's progress in corporate America is stalling. The Women in the Workplace 2025 report (McKinsey & https://t.co/l0k2IWaA8p, 11th edition) shows that only 54% of companies rank women's career advancement as a high priority.

A few numbers:

Women hold 29% of C-suite roles, unchanged from 2024.

At the first step up to manager, only 93 women are promoted for every 100 men. For women of color, it's just 74.

A new ambition gap has appeared: 69% of entry-level women want a promotion, compared with 80% of entry-level men.

The study suggests ambition drops where support is missing. When women and men receive the same support, the gap disappears. Employees with sponsors are promoted at nearly twice the rate of those without.

It's a solvable problem, but it takes real investment.

That is why spaces like Empower Tech matter: honest conversations, practical career tools and allies in the room. 17 November, Bucharest.

Do you know what happens under the hood when your systems have to process thousands of requests simultaneously, in real time?

At our next DevAfterWork, we're joined by Catalin Cimpoeru, Software Architect at Eeze, who will take us into the architecture behind high-throughput live platforms.

🎤 In his talk, "Bets Closed: Processing Thousands of Bets in a Single Second", Catalin will walk through the concurrency, batching, and back-pressure design that lets teams accept, validate, and settle wagers without dropping or double-counting a single one.

If you're already building scalable backends or simply curious about how systems handle extreme concurrency, come have a chat with Catalin and the rest of the community.

See you at DevAfterWork! 👋
