Why are we internalising US formulations about generations that relate to the impact on their societies of economic and technology changes there.

Worse, we pronounce Z as Zed and not Zee. We should discard this mental subordination to western expressions .

There was no separation. The British played the partition game to the hilt for geopolitical reasons.

Incidentally, that united entity would have been called India, not South Asia.

And also not Bharat.

All the problems of the Islamic world would have become integrally ours.

Even with partition India is unable to develop a coherent national personality.

Without partition India would have remained neither fowl nor fish.

As a family that were victims of partition, we never had regrets.
