Indian Foreign Services is one of the most underrated services within the #UPSC framework.
From the 1950s to the 1970s, it was customary for UPSC toppers to choose the IFS. This has now changed dramatically.
Not only has the #IAS supplanted the IFS as the service of choice but even the IPS and the IRS are preferred over the IFS by many applicants.
And WHY NOT?
1. India is served by the smallest diplomatic corps of any major country. Just to give you an example - US Embassy in Delhi has more diplomats than the entire Indian Foreign Services.
2. Indian diplomats are pushing files, answering parliamentary questions, receiving dignitaries, assisting the PM during the summit, and then greeting returning Indians stuck in Ukraine/Somalia at 2 am in the morning, and reporting back to work at 9 AM.
3. A single Joint Secretary (East Asia) in the Ministry of External Affairs has to handle India’s policies regarding China, Japan, two Koreas, Mongolia, Taiwan, a couple more regions.
Over worked-understaffed MEA doesn’t look like the ideal place to work. Or is it?
There’s another side to the brilliance of the Indian Foreign Services that the popular media and books haven’t covered.
And I will be talking to some of my friends in the IFS across countries to bring out those beautiful stories.
Here’s the link to the first video - enjoy, and do let me know your thoughts. https://t.co/rydWmwg4Jx
#WATCH | Due to some political reasons, we had to restrict ourselves from enhancing relations with Israel. PM Modi was 1st Indian Prime Minister who went to Israel... The time has gone when we used to keep national interest aside for vote bank politics: EAM Dr S Jaishankar(04.09)

Online classes = 0×Knowledge + 0×Intraction + 0×College life + 0×Self confidence + 0×Mental Health
Conclusion: In every aspect, we stand with a big zero.

Students ko javab do!
#reopendu#Kab_Khulega_Du@UnivofDelhi is enjoying it. Isn't ?
Teachers are getting their sallery, without any efforts. Students are getting marks without any efforts. Is this called an education system?
Then @UnivofDelhi is running a great education environment.
When all other things are almost open now,how can the authorities compromise with the basic education. It has been a long time now.We are depriving of our basic education and activities.Sitting and studying at home can not solve this problem anymore.
#reopendu#Kab_Khulega_Du
Online classes are a waste of students as a human resource! We can’t sit our legs crossed and let go waste semester after semester ! Corona , in India is nowhere but only in colleges ???? Support opening of DU campus ✊🏻✊🏻

Since Covid cases have reduced in the capital and majority of the students have been vaccinated, I feel it is time for the University to open its door for the betterment of students.
