@ItsJusDifferent@luisVen18166811@Sassafrass_84 “Worst moments” -we all have them. “Best moments” may matter more -striving to elevate nation, hearth or spirit. But you’d be hard pressed to think of a moment George Floyd ever tried to achieve the latter.
@ItsJusDifferent@luisVen18166811@Sassafrass_84 Don’t assume with a hateful heart. I don’t think “slave owners” deserve murals. But I do believe in acts of redemptive and doing great service for country or for others. George Floyd did no good for anyone and nothing redemptive or worthy of respect.
@avilewis Canada’s friendship with Cuba has always been based on two-tier exploitation of people trapped in an authoritarian system. You may lie to yourself about the ethical nature of your cheap holidays, but the rest of us aren’t falling for it.

The truth is, Liberals hate how easily Poilievre makes Carney look like a fool. They promote fake concern because they feel threatened. But we’re good. Our leader is loyal to his base and we’re loyal to him. Trust me. When Carney loses the next election, he’ll disappear back to Brookfield in a cloud of sulphur. No loyalty to Canada there.
@crakeka1@GodBlssEnclave@esjesjesj@elonmusk@grok Regardless of whether we’re talking about communism or socialism, the point you’re missing is “nationalism” can be expressed in any political system. Extreme nationalism is more accurately the hallmark of imperial or autocratic systems than a product of the right.
@GodBlssEnclave@crakeka1@esjesjesj@elonmusk@grok So what would you call the genocidal suppression of the Uyghurs by communist China or Kulaks by the Soviet Union? Your “extreme nationalist” argument is based on Liberal Boomer tropes -not a reliable or consistent ‘a priori’.
@crakeka1@esjesjesj@elonmusk@grok Well, government controlled industry sure isn’t laissez faire/capitalism. And nationalism/sovereignty is not exclusively a rightwing phenomenon. Socialism/communism never result in classless societies because they can never completely eradicate power, control or hierarchy.
@esjesjesj@elonmusk@grok Postwar Boomer Liberalism likes to reject Nazism’s socialist roots based on a romantic and idealized version of socialism that has never existed.
@RandallLister1@mario4thenorth So to hell with them? Young Canadians need to learn to work -same as any teenager or young adult. Takes a village to raise a child. Don’t be so self interested you undermine your nation and the value of hard work.
@BennySellick@JayGenXer Ask yourself. Had Carney not been crowned as PM, would he have stuck around slog it out for Canadians as leader of the opposition? Or would he disappear in a sulphurous flash back to Brookfield? Let’s be real about who is loyal to Canadians. 😉
@joeroganhq Pure Democrat projection. It must have been deeply embarrassing that the that the strings of autopen zombie were showing and we all knew it.
@PrometheanActn Barbara, no new federal election in Canada. A suspicious handful of floor crossings has led to Carney getting a majority government. Previously his actions were constrained by a minority Liberal/Conservative government.
Treaties, the Indian Act obligations etc. are law. These are still guaranteed and nothing would change. Alternatively, Indigenous people in Alberta are in a unique position to band together and play the province against the country for results they want best. A potential win if you want it.
