Watched the video, he praised the novel and found it profoundly relatable despite being a straight male, which I think is the best part of reading fiction: you can experience a world outside your own and understand that in the end we’re all much alike.
The Neil Gaiman example later in this thread is absolutely evergreen because he's such a perfect case study for "terrible people can make very good and very progressive, empathetic pieces of art". The sooner we stop conflating someone's morality with their work the better.
Seeing people trash the "Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You" anime adaptation because it's age gap romance makes me so sad...
Pure-hearted maidens like fantasizing about gap moe tired salarymen, you know!!!
I don't know if this is a hot take, but I'm kind of tired of all the celebrity faces in games over taking the spotlight of voice/game actors. Some are fine, but I feel like so many games have some big celebrity reveal and I just do not care

@DrXaverius Sucking dick is slavery, birth control for a man is slavery... When do we fuck freely, then?! (But also, yeah, that's stupid and very tumblr-esque)
The fact that yall genuinely think you're removed from the patriarchy simply by virtue of who you wanna fuck is probably why so many terminally online young lesbians think it's ok to shit on other women using misogynistic language. That makes a lot of sense, tbh.
...I picked up and he very casually said "Hi it's Tony, I've just thought of a few more Merlin anecdotes." And proceeded to talk to me for another 20 minutes about how much he enjoyed playing Brain Training on his Nintendo DS between takes. 2/3
This is extremely sad - I interviewed him a few times over the years and he was a real gent.
I remember once I was doing a 10-year retrospective on the TV show Merlin (where he played King Uther), had a good chat on the phone.
A few days later, a random call came through...1/3
