Yes! My first response when someone tells me they don't like something (food, a TV show, the horror genre) is to ask why. Then you can decide if you can find something for them to try!

My partner told me a while ago they hated horror movies. They just don't like jumpscares. That's easy. Find good movies without them, or watch the movies yourself first and write down when all the jumpscares are so you can warn them. Hello horror movie nights!
