To those asking that today become “Charlie Kirk Day” forever, please stop and think about what that would actually mean.

I love the idea of a Charlie Kirk Day. Honor the man. Honor the husband, the father, the son, the friend, the leader. Honor the Christian who spent his life arguing in public for what he believed. That is worth remembering.

But not THIS day.

September 10th is not the day his life should be defined by. It is the day a good man was gunned down in front of a crowd for speaking. It is a day of tragedy, of a family shattered, of a wife left without her husband, of children left without their father. Turning the date of an assassination into a holiday does not elevate him. It freezes him at the worst moment of his life and asks the rest of us to celebrate on the anniversary of that wound.

If you want Charlie Kirk Day, choose the day he was born. Choose a day that marks what he built, not the day someone tried to erase him. Do not take a tragedy and dress it up as a festival. Grief is not a brand. Martyrdom is not a party.
Honor him by continuing the work. Honor him by rejecting political violence. Do not honor him by making the calendar itself a monument to the bullet.
