The updated native Windows port of Bloodborne version 1.09 introduces full support for modern upscaling technologies including NVIDIA DLSS, AMD FSR 3.1, and FSR 4. These algorithms reconstruct clean output images at 1440p and 4K resolutions using internal motion vectors and depth buffers directly from the engine.

The bbport release executes original code directly without a PlayStation 4 emulator by translating calls via the Vulkan graphics API. The update unlocks frame rates up to 120 FPS, adds a dedicated launcher with one-click updates, full keyboard and mouse controls, and mod support.

Hardware testing on a GeForce RTX 5080 delivers a solid 120 FPS while restoring online specters and bloodstains via shadNet.

Unpopular opinion from the actual book: Carrie isn’t a revenge fantasy or an empowerment story. King writes her as a product of her mother’s religious abuse who then becomes a mass murderer over 400 dead, the town levelled, and the prom sequence only the start.

The epistolary sections (the White Commission reports, the scientific papers on telekinesis) frame her powers as an amplifying curse, not a tool for justice. Adaptations that pull the ending back so she stays “innocent” or shift the worst of the violence onto someone else are dodging the novel’s point: the cycle of cruelty produces something worse than the bullies. The 1976 film at least didn’t flinch at that; most later versions, including the new series, do.
