#SocialWorkTwitter self determination and that savior complex do not go together. You aren’t a savior in this field. Just a witness to someone’s journey🤷🏽♂️
Why this guy see my apartment and say “Dang I didn’t know social workers could afford anything this nice”… y’all, the public thinks all of us are out here making pennies. Let them know and continue to ask for top dollar🗣.
Don’t ever look at me and say “ We didn’t go into it for the money”. That is a narrative that our field has created in order to make ourselves feel better about dumpster juice wages. Stop saying it. I’m walking away from any offer that is not worth my time and expertise.
Hi, my name is Devin. I am a social worker, and I definitely do it for the money. I’m passionate and good at what I do, sooooo pay me. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.
So, I definitely want to start the steps to create my non profit. I have a pretty good idea what I want to do, but have no idea what I want the name to be. Do I need to figure out the name before I start the process?
@ana_bananza Definitely agree with everyone on the thread. I always tell my clients that finding a therapist is like dating around. You may not vibe with everyone, and that’s okay. Keep looking until you find the right fit🙂
@LogicByP The movies show someone overworked, burned out, and poor… and I’m none of the above😂. Gag is a lot of CPS workers aren’t even social workers.
