The new Algorithm update KILLED Faceless AI Channels.

Proof + how to bypass it:

High CTR, high watch time - all the stats make sense, but the videos are stuck at low impressions?

I've seen it across all the channels in the niches I run and in my own channels.

Faceless videos with a human voice and 0 AI usage = working as usual.

AI thumbnails, AI editing, ElevenLabs voice = completely dead.

And there's clear evidence. Kurzgesagt (25M subscribers) got shadow banned even though their videos aren't even AI.
Same happened to Business Basics (2M subscribers). YouTube CONFIRMED to them that they started actively blocking the reach of AI videos with their new update.

So if you still want to run AI channels, here are some measures to make them as undetectable as possible:

- Twotensors .ai to remove SynthID from thumbnails.

- Minimax/Grok voices instead of ElevenLabs (no SynthID).

- Don't use HeyGen or any other AI avatars anymore. It's a ticking time bomb; your channel will get demonetized, it's guaranteed. No matter the niche. **If you really want to use AI avatars, remove SynthID from the avatar.**

- Use AI Text Humanizer to remove AI watermarks.
If you use Vidrush, disable overused effects/transitions that scream Vidrush. Do some editing afterward and change things up.

These are just my two cents and my recommendations to give you some clarity.

Even with these measures, it will be very hard to run these types of channels. Faceless YouTube is returning to the traditional way. Investing in a voice-over artist, a real face, and real editing will give you a huuuge competitive edge from now on.

Running AI channels is a constant cat-and-mouse game with YouTube.

Survive for 2–3 months, collect a few payouts… and then lose EVERYTHING and have suicidal thoughts over the $50k payout you just lost.

Some people have already figured this out. They stopped gambling and started hiring REAL narrators.

With a real narrator, your chances of getting banned or demonetized are basically 0. YouTube is not messing with real faces.

AI is still amazing for getting started and pushing out videos fast and cheaply.

But if you want to build something that actually LASTS?

Using a real person is the ONLY long-term strategy.

This channel here has a face, but it’s still completely faceless. The person on camera is HIRED. A hired narrator.

You own the channel. A real asset.

Of course, it will be more expensive, and you can’t push out as many videos. But if you consider that you won’t get banned...

And then there’s the competitive edge you have... With AI, every Indian and Nigerian is your competitor. People can rip off your stuff with minimal effort. You don’t own anything.

Almost no guru will tell you the reality.

Why?

Because selling you the “AI sleep story, AI avatar channel = passive income” dream is a lot easier than telling you what actually works long term.

By the way, this is how everyone was doing Faceless YouTube before AI came along in 2022. We didn’t have any AI but we still made it work.

YouTube’s AI Detection Kicked Us in the Face

Every creator's worst nightmare just happened to us: The YouTube algorithm actually blocked us. It started slowly at first. Some videos started showing strange view fluctuations. Our second to last video did very badly, but this just happens sometimes, so we didn’t think that much about it.

But then our last video, about Superpredators, did *extremely* badly. It was our worst upload since 2013. But it did badly in a weird way: Almost every single metric was well above average: People clicked the video more often and watched it for longer, and the people who watched it, on average, loved it! So it should have been at the very least an average upload, not the worst in over a decade.

So we quickly got in touch with YouTube, and they actually confirmed pretty quickly that something was going on. It turned out that YouTube’s automatic AI detection tools wrongly think that our very much human-made videos are AI Slop. So it started to choke our channel. Our contacts at YouTube were amazingly helpful and transparent with us, and hopefully the bug is fixed for now.

In principle, we are all for blocking AI slop from the platform; it really seems to have been bad luck.

Since we really love this video, we have taken it offline. We are updating and changing it a bit to make it worth watching a second time. We’ll reupload it in a few weeks, and hopefully this time the anti-AI tool will feel ok about it. If you have watched it before, it would help us a lot if you watch it a second time and all the way to the end for an Algorithm boost!

This is faceless, but not faceless in the traditional sense. Traditional faceless content doesn’t work anymore because YT detects all kinds of AI-generated content now and limits its reach.
