“Techno was invented in Detroit by Black youth and nurtured in Black and queer spaces. It is a music that speaks very deliberately about how those Black youth are thinking about the future,” says @michiganstateu Professor @JulianChambliss.
Chambliss studies how Detroit and its people were integral to the creation of techno and continue to have a global influence today.
