She knows @DevotedGaze is not working and she certainly hopes she didn't leave anywhere. After picking up some groceries on her way, she rushes off to ( * their ) home.
"Nat? I'm home."
ㅤ
There's an unsurprising restlessness the redhead feels while sat upon that couch. She isn't used to lounging around and feeling lazy.
But she's trying— doesn't want to share Maria with anyone else for the night.
"Chinese?"
"I do." A nod, because she'll never deny that. No matter how irritated or mad Maria might make her at times.
"It's that or I make us both a peanut butter sandwich..."
`` yet you love me anyway, i
call that a win win. ``
she reached for the tv remote
now, wanting to flick on a movie.
`` feel like ordering take out? ``
Eyes flickering between the chip and her girlfriend a few times.
"You annoy me." She finally mumbles, ultimately accepting that offered chip with a loud crunch.
Tongue clicking against the roof of her mouth, stewing a moment with her irritation.
"If I tell you, are you going to get your own and not steal mine again?"
A slight glare at the words she knows deep down have no malice or ill intent behind them.
"Why don't you just admit to missing me, Ria?" She's softened considerably now, door being shut with the edge of her boot.
"That's clearly what this is."
ㅤ
"It's called a kind gesture. You should try it." An amused smile plays on her lips seeing the obvious shock on the usually stoic face.
"Mind closing the door behind you?" she asks gently, her hand moving to undo her bun, pulling out some bobby pins out of her hair.
ㅤ
There's an obvious look of shock as she takes in the scene in front of her.
"Is this you bribing me before you give me some shit news?" An even higher raise of an eyebrow, though she does further enter the office space.
ㅤ
"Oh, I'm Hill now?"
Unlike her usual office attire, Maria is in her t-shirt and cargo pants, her jacket neatly folded on the minimalist couch of her office. She's been holed up there for way too long.
"I got us pizza," she nods to two boxes of pizza on the coffee table.
ㅤ
An eye roll directed at her phone. That message going unanswered.
However, it's only a few minutes later that she appears. No knock offered, just Natasha barging straight in and raising an eyebrow.
"Yes, Hill?"
A slight laugh at how theatrical it sounds. Though, she can't deny the way it clenches at her heart too.
"We better have a lot of days left spent together, Clint Barton."
