@farwell_WR I have said it before other forums, so here it is. I'm originally from Calgary where all playground zones (which is also ALL school zones) are automatically 30kph. It doesn't impact driving at all. People need to realize that there are PLAYGROUNDS there and quit being entitled!

@farwell_WR As someone that currently lives on a Kitchener street flanked by schools at both ends, I am happy to see the limit dropped to 30kph around those schools. The regular limit is 40kph, and we regularly see people driving down the road at a much higher rate of speed!

@farwell_WR Growing up in Calgary in the 80's, there were always two speed limits in residential areas. 50kph, and then 30kph whenever there was a school or playground. Didn't bother anyone, and those speeds are still in force.
