Excuse me, Scoot! This doesn’t feel right too! This article is apparently updated at 10.31pm SGT on 31st October. You cancelled the flight at approx 5pm!
@flyscoot
6/What strongly prompted me to share this is because passengers had to travel amidst the typhoon to an eventual cancelled flight.
There is no way that this is right. I know Scoot is low-cost. However, in 365 days, why wouldn’t Scoot cancel responsibly of ONE flight?
@flyscoot
5/Well.. it doesn’t end here. Conditions of Carriage by Scoot mentions re-booking at no additional cost. Yet, it cost me $417 to book my next flight.
FARE DIFFERENCES APPLY. They waived fee of changing the flight only..
It doesn’t feel the best on Scoot’s end.
@flyscoot
4/Alas, at the boarding gate, passengers feared the worst when they saw on Flightradar24 that TR899 had headed away from Taiwan.
They announced it got cancelled due to being unable to land because of the typhoon. Imagine the frustration! Plans ruined!
@flyscoot
@flyscoot 3/As a passenger, it’d be your fault if you didn’t show up to the flight. So, i headed to Taoyuan Int airport. Winds were VERY strong and rains were reducing visibility everywhere!
This was a risk taken by us to commit to an “on schedule” flight!
@flyscoot
2/Made calls the day before and also live-chatted Scoot on departure day to double-confirm if TR899 was being cancelled!
Words like “No travel advisory at the moment. Flight is on schedule.” kept repeating! Really? The typhoon was THERE in Taiwan already.
@flyscoot
@flyscoot@flyscoot and now that the passengers are here - the flight seems to have diverted on flightradar24 but there’s been no information except playing messages of delay. Could we be properly informed please?
@flyscoot TR899 is not landing and i understand the Typhoon has a part to play. However, what’s stopping the team from letting the passengers know in the boarding gate at Taoyuan Int Airport?
@flyscoot It makes me wonder - the Typhoon was imminent already. So many other flights are cancelled. Why not cancel/delay to a better timing when the flight could truly be committed? There’s been a heap of complications trusting Scoot that there’s no travel advisory. But..
