My name is Dheepak. Originally from India, and I currently reside in the western Coast of the states.

I work in a new gen aviation start-up, building and de-risking electric and hybrid planes, in a mission to save time and reduce the carbon footprint

I love to go on hikes, explore nature, read a ton of mysteries and psychological thrillers, and also a fiend for water based activities

Also quite a fan of new technology, scalability, and more importantly since I work in it, reliability of a product

I honestly feel sad for software engineers especially after the layoffs and advent of AI

A lot of my friends are software engineers and it takes them about 8-10 months to interview 5-6 rounds with 20-30 different companies to even land a position

And the sad part is, half of them or more are just feeding existing architectures and prompting AI to do their work. There are genuine people who love engineering and it has absolutely broken their heart to the point of why the fuck am I even in engineering

I have been mixed with AI, and luckily so because I'm in hardware development. But it's sad to see people who have lost their passion for engineering when it takes up 1/3rd to sometimes even 1/2 your day

Something has to change. I just don't have the solution, because it seems inevitable that the passion for software engineering is going to keep going down
