Lt Shahshank Tiwari died while saving life of his buddy.
➡️A route opening team of 1st Bn Sikkim Scouts were opening route to TOB Chu Jn . Team started from Bichhu at 0900hr.
➡️AV Stephan subba slipped while crossing a log bridge and was being washed away in the fast flowing stream at 1110 h on 22 May 2025.
➡️With utter disregard to his own life and personal safety Lt Shashank Tiwari immediately jumped in the stream to save AV Stephan. He was followed by Nk Pukar Katel.
➡️Lt Shashank Tiwari, managed to save his buddy AV Stephan Subba, however was unable to pull himself out from the fast current of the stream and was swept away. All out effort to save the offr by the rest of the petrol failed and subsequently the offr's body was found 800 meters downstream by 1130hrs
