@Tara_Deshpande The same goes for all the idiots on safaris and marine wildlife excursions with their selfie sticks. Compassion and sensitivity towards wildlife and ecology in general needs to be an integral part of education. Without it any "education" is redundant.
@SAMaskeri Having lived in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad I can tell you with the utmost sincerity and certainty that each one of those cities has obnoxious subcultures of entitlement and disregard for basic human decency among its elite and upper middle class.
@sindharh The whole point of a pilgrimage/yatra is to traverse through treacherous paths and challenging conditions to push you out of your comfort zone before you reach the holy site. This might sound crazy, but my recommendation would be to make the site even more challenging to reach.
@saranstm Yeah this is nonsense. There are racists everywhere including India. If you are an ill mannered, self entitled traveler like a lot of Indians tend to be, then yes you deserve to be looked down upon. Being respectful, sensitive and curious goes a long way when traveling.
@sindharh@varshaparmar06@BattaKashmiri There are three columns that are broken. One for every Yuga that has passed. Legend has it that the 4th one will remain intact till we end the current cycle !
@NBDwrites That is why books and rote learning can never be a substitute for intense lived experiences. You come up with brain dead arguments and stale humor like the ones in the screenshots.
The 8 lessons India taught me:
1. Death makes life sacred.
2. The body knows before the mind.
3. Beauty carries meaning.
4. Disfigurement does not erase dignity.
5. Pain can be held by the sacred.
6. Ritual gives life structure.
7. Immersion returns us to ancient time.
8. Uncertainty opens the soul.
India did not teach me to think harder.
It taught me to feel life more deeply.
@Dani_Blek This is also the first time since the dawn of civilisation that human beings have stockpiled enough nuclear weapons to destroy the planet to the point of extinction. Time to rethink our priorities perhaps ?
