Seems a good time to repost this. The #AlbertaIndependence movement, at its heart, isnโt motivated by equalization policies, Senate seats, carbon taxes or oil. These tired complaints may ride shotgun on independence, but bigotry drives the truck. https://t.co/utQHHAW193
Jay Leno, Stephen A. Smith, and Louis C.K. will lead the celebration as Bill Maher accepts the Mark Twain Prize at the Kennedy Center on June 28th, with Woody Harrelson, John Mellencamp, and Whitney Cummings also appearing.
The ceremony will be filmed for a Netflix special.

Thought I was being a cool parent letting my teenage boy design a shirt for our petting farm. All it had to say was "please don't touch the wildlife". Before I show you, be warned that the little menace sold over 500 of them. This is what he came up with:๏ฟผ
@richardwarnica It's so revealing that when #Alberta separatists are confronted by the batshit claims their leaders make, they don't try to defend or explain them. They simply bleat "fake news."
These people aren't just bigots and suckers. They're also lazy.
On the point in question here, this is what Mitch said, at an independence town hall in Mossleigh in February: "In our Constitution, it says that you're going to have to be born in Alberta to become a citizen. So we're going to have to get those girls making more babies."
@Martyupnorth Mitch Sylvestre said only people born in Alberta would be citizens. That leaves you out. You wouldnโt even be able to vote in the country youโre trying to establish. This is hilarious.
@dckurek@MarkJCarney Albertans in your riding voted for you to represent them, but you dumped them to make way for someone whose own riding wanted him gone. So donโt tell us what Albertans did or didnโt vote for. The 400K of us who signed the Forever Canadian wanted a policy proposal, not this.
@CSmartarsery@CourtEllingson@RajanJSaw@jodi_stonehouse@nenshi I can't imagine why the chiefs wouldn't want to meet with a sporting goods salesman who believes the King is trying to kill him and that the federal government is selling organs harvested from medically assisted deaths.
โI feel duped,โ Sylvestre said, minutes after the Premier finished her television address. "This reminds me of the time I sent money to that nice former Nigerian prince who sent me an email. And the time I bought those boner pills - also from an email." https://t.co/eK3ugR9S3D
