In case you haven’t heard, DiPhi is beginning to fundraise for a portrait of James Walker Jr! Mr. Walker was the first African American member of DiPhi, one of the first five African American students at UNC and was integral in desegregating UNC’s campus.
Join us Nov. 25th for our twelfth & FINAL public meeting! We’ll host our annual trophy debate. Speakers will deposit resolutions in the trophy at the start and proceed into a bracket-style tournament. The crowd decides. Survive and advance—the last speaker standing wins it all!
Join us this Monday, November 18th at 7:30 PM for our eleventh regular meeting of the semester! We will be debating "RESOLVED: Given a tradeoff, it is better that art be excellent than accessible."

Join us for our 4th Experimental Debate! "Resolved: Duel Each Other" will be a bracket-style debate where participants will choose a member to duel, debate on their (false) grievances, then move to the front of the Di for a quick spat. The winner then moves on to the next round.

Join us in the time-honored Dialectic Chamber on October 21st. We will turn back time and debate a resolution from our past 100 years ago: Resolved: Members should be permitted to read, smoke, whisper, and chew gum or tobacco during meetings so long as the body is not disturbed.
Join us this Monday, October 14th at 7:30 PM for our sixth regular meeting of the semester! We will be having an impromptu debate. The resolution will be announced at the start of the meeting and speakers will have 15 minutes to write their speeches before the debate begins.
