@JustineBateman Most of the ones I get don’t even leave a message. I just block the number, knowing full well the next call will be from a different number.
@tanpukunokami No, not in every household. In my immediate & extended family, the only on for sure who had one was a policeman. That’s family in 2 locations thousands of miles apart. Normal enough, but not nearly as obsequious as it might seem.
@DavidPollackUSA She hasn’t. That would mean 50%+1 of the total vote. She has merely qualified for the primary, & anyone who says she has won is either deluded by wishful thinking, is lying, or is totally ignorant.
@CynicalPublius I had a friend who eventually got a PhD. But before that, when he only had a lowly MA, he was known to say, “Anyone who has one could tell you that
advanced degrees have nothing to do with life.”
@wilsonhlthcoach I’m in S. CA and am not like that, but we are in the minority. The way I vote almost never wins. I’m sorry there aren’t enough people like me.
@Kell_Razor@tuuu28283 The fires sure are scary, but my area, about 8 miles from the coast, is built our suburban, so the fire risk is very, very small. We’re prob 20-30 miles from any wild open spaces.
@BigJuJuMedia@Gentleman_Ways As I said, I knew about technical facilities (which could include a theater for screenings or dailies), but I wasn’t sure anyone lived there. We’ve knownpeople who worked therein those facilities, that is all.
@mikehtrujillo A citizen’s group tried to get a recount for a vote on a raised tax that ended being so close as by tens. The price the registrar quoted kept going up until he finally admitted that all the ballots are dumped in boxes together & they have no idea the location of any one city.
@mikehtrujillo I’m not sure what the CURE file is, but I do know that they’ve effectively made it impossible to get a recount because they did away with voting precincts & have no idea where any ballot might be among all those votes made in the county.
