Cedars-Sinai/UCLA-trained Nephrologist. I usually tweet about aviation, dogs, LA sports, and the Miami Dolphins. In other words, I rarely tweet about kidneys.
@Doll_Phan72 No unexpected repairs. Mine is a 2022 I bought brand new so there have been a variety of recalls. As for road noise, I’m driving a big box on knobby tires with no carpet (washout floors in the badlands). It’s loud at 70mph+ but can still have a conversation.
@NaKCCrit@pgipe This. 85 year old on ACEi with a one-time eGFR of 58 in the summer months. Bland UA, negative for urinary protein. “CKD and needs nephrology eval” on the auth. Wonder what @GlassockJ would say.
@seanluomdphd@JahangirAsgha10 I think you are purposely being obtuse. I made a simple point. My reimbursement is down for doing the same amount of work I did several years ago. My expenses are up. My take home is down. Period. These are facts.
@seanluomdphd@JahangirAsgha10 You are aware that CMS reduced the CF by 2.8% in 2025, yes? So yes, my reimbursement is decreasing. If a nephrologist takes over my practice he will make less (especially when adjusted for inflation) than I made 5-7 years ago. Unless he increases his workload.
@seanluomdphd@JahangirAsgha10 Oh sure, I’d love to go “massage my payer mix” to go after the Fortune 500 CEOs that are on dialysis. When you focus on a patient population that is 95% government-insured, your ability to do either of the things you mentioned is limited.
