Students with last names later in the alphabet receive lower grades than those in the beginning.
Teachers give higher grades when they start and lower when they are tired of grading.
Teachers that grade Z-A give higher grades to late last names.
Delta is 0.6/100
Good teachers make it look easy, so folks assume it is.
If you’ve only ever participated as a student in a school, STOP thinking you know what it’s like to do a teacher’s job.
And if you are interested, you’re in luck! America is currently short 300,000+ teachers. #DrainingJob
I don’t know how to feel about this one. I know that must people have an opinion on feeling less than others but I don’t think ALL honor students cheat. What do you guys think? #TEC207S24
Honors students cheat the most.
The way it was explained to me years ago (by a group of H students) is that once you realize others are getting high grades by copying/sharing work & answers, you don't want to be the idiot who does all the work & ends up with a lower grade.
I honestly understand, nowadays I just don’t feel motivated enough to even think about my goals. I just do them to make sure I have a career! #TEC207S24
A scary number of teens no longer have interests.
You ask them what they're into, & so many respond with "I don't know" or "nothing" or "sleeping"
You ask them about their goals, much the same. They have none. They care about nothing (except maybe friends)
Danger zone
Does anyone find it ironic that some teachers will complain about working outside of their contract hours but then expect students to do homework at home?
Walking into the first classroom I teach in on Monday morning after spring break. The room is cleared out and the person who was teaching here decided she was done and couldn't make it to the end of the year.
Two things I often say in my classroom:
1. It's okay if you're wrong. I just want to know what you're thinking.
2. Remember, we're on the same team. I'm here to help.
Teachers shouldn’t have to devote more and more of their personal life to their profession to be considered highly effective. It’s unrealistic expectations like this that lead to burn out and teacher shortage
Consider this…many people HONESTLY BELIEVE teachers have an
‘easy job, with short hours, summers off, with amazing benefits’
AND YET, in the past 6 years, states have had a record number of teachers leaving the profession with fewer prospects than ever.
Think about that. 🤔😐
