The fact this is also a Police investigation makes it even worse.

She was a very clever, intellectual, conviction politician who had more decency in her than most people I’ve ever met.

She was kind and thoughtful and would never hold a grudge with anyone when differing views were held ..

Andy Burnham has discovered his conscience. How convenient. How theatrical. How utterly Manchester.

He stands before us now, eyes glistening with rehearsed regret, apologising for Gaza. The suffering, the hurt, the moral failure. He feels it all. Deeply. Profoundly. Right on cue for the cameras.

But here is what burns. While Andy can locate his moral compass for a foreign policy headline, he cannot find it for the war on our own streets. What are you doing about the cover up of rape gangs?

Are you going to close the borders, or just close your eyes?

Why are you spending four million pounds a day housing foreign criminals and convicted child abusers in hotels while British veterans freeze on our streets?
