@GalwayCityCo Eyes are on @GalwayCityCo now based on this @rtenews article. I am hoping that they have leadership and vision to reopen this space. There needs to be a turnaround for Galway, it’s deteriorating before the eyes of its living residents.

Honestly the closure of significant establishments in Galway would make me question living in Galway 🥲 who knew we’d come to this, it’s a huge failing. Our uniqueness with food and culture isn’t being supported.

I don’t understand the logistics either, is it rates by @GalwayCityCo , other factors, or a mixture? We seem to have a multitude of cheap shop fronts for vapes, sweets, etc. and very few businesses of substance being established.

After 20 years supporting tech startups, the DECC will not procure a new service contract for NDRC post-Nov 2025. Operations will continue as usual until November 2025, and there are plans in place to manage and support ongoing investments.
