Uganda continues to record many fatal road accidents, with speeding, reckless driving, dangerous overtaking, and poor vehicle maintenance among the leading causes.

The latest tragedy occurred at Lwera Swamp along the Kampala–Masaka Highway, where a passenger taxi collided head-on with a sand-laden truck. The crash claimed 14 lives and left four others injured. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
