Anton Mauve belonged to the Hague School, a group of artists who painted realist Dutch landscapes in mostly in dark tones. He advised Vincent to start painting with oils and to do a lot of work with live models.

From 13 October 2018 to 6 January 2019 @ValkhofMuseum will exhibit I, Mary of Guelders. The duchess and her extraordinary prayer book. The highlight of the exhibition is the 40 specially restored pages from her extensive prayer book, a great medieval art treasure of Holland.
