This weekend in 1993 QPR and Man City gave us the most diabolical 20 seconds in the history of association football.
Watch it. Drink it in. Then remember the debt of gratitude we owe the players.
These men are heroes. Lest we forget.
π§‘π§‘Remembering the fallen at Day & Co π§‘π§‘
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them
Itβs the 30th anniversary of this lovely bit of gamesmanship from Gary McAllister and John Pemberton at Elland Road.
Here they carry an injured Peter Ndlovu off the field, before taking a quick throw-in which leads to a goal for McAllister.
Merciless.
19 years ago at the World Cup:
The colossal Fabio Cannavaro breaks up a German attack, and seconds later Alessandro Del Piero puts the Azzurri in the Final.
What a game. What a goal. What an era.
4 years
119 appearances
6 goals
22 assists

Injury issues hampered him but he stuck around when times got tough.
The definition of ups and downs but leaves as a cult hero.
Thank you magic Junior Firpo πͺπ

@1882RC@BBCMOTD I agree mate. I do think the amount of live football you can watch though now dilutes the FA cup final. I can remember as a kid we didnβt have sky so because there was a big live game on TV you made a big thing of it
Marcus Rashford making the England starting lineup twice in a row as soon as he signed for Aston Villa shows a clear bias to the top clubsβ¦
Didn't get a look in when he was at a club fighting relegation!
