Finished first day of Day Camp at Tulakogee just before the storms rolled in. Fortunately, the fish were biting and there were lots of those 1-2 graders catching their first fish!!!
Seemed like there was more thunder than rain at my place this morning, but grateful for the 0.42" I did receive. As you can see, some folks did get a pretty good soaking.
Pleasant this morning, a little hot this PM on lake Skiatook, but it was for a good cause. Mike Taylor and I did manage to catch some fish but not well enough to finish in the money: https://t.co/BPzMtpzLV0
Forgot to mention, the popcorn showers while we were gone to Branson dropped 1.25" rain at my place. Mighty grateful for any rain at this time of year!
What fun, spent last 4 days with g'kids at Branson. Lots of other family members also there as you can see in the photo taken during a tour of Dogwood Canyon.
Spent most of today at Camp Tulakogee helping clean and also fixing the fishing tackle that will be used in Kids Camp that is coming up soon: https://t.co/sW5MXZcgZL
Stifling. That pretty well sums up the heat, humidity, and lack of wind for most of today with disaster relief chain saw crew in Okmulgee & Morris. Finally got some wind with the storms that blew through about quitting time, but up till then....stifling.
Was out of pocket most of the day yesterday, but ran across this fascinating historical tidbit regarding our forefathers this morning, hope you enjoy it as much as I did: https://t.co/gPuLqWdr6L
Today is an anniversary of sorts. One year ago today was the first day of my retirement as a broadcast meteorologist at KOTV. Certainly has been a busy and enjoyable year for Connie and I and am looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us in the years ahead.
Whew, not much ventilation from the wind today with winds generally less than 10 mph and heat index values topping out at 107 in Okmulgee. Made for a steamy day cutting and dragging trees with the Disaster Relief chain saw crews working in Okmulgee and Morris.
Grateful for the 0.62" of rain at my place last night and this morning. As you can see, some received more others less as is common at this time of year.
