I thought about the Wanna Get Away slogan of Southwest Airlines today while on this desolate stretch of highway in eastern NM. I didn’t see another vehicle for nearly 2 hours. No people, no cars, no cell service, no noise, no traffic, no nothing. This right here is what keeps me sane. The getting away from the hustle and bustle of life for just a moment.

Our canal goes by so many names. White River Canal, Indianapolis Canal, Downtown Canal, Broad Ripple Canal. But its one true name is the Central Canal (even if the downtown portion has been extensively renovated since the 1830s).
