Chronic illness translation guide:
“You seem fine” means I’ve decided my five-second observation outweighs everything you told me.
“You’re always sick” means I’m beginning to resent you for not recovering on my preferred timeline.
“Have you tried…” means your years of suffering are apparently no match for the first thought that entered my head.
@DefLeppard I used to listen to the entire Hysteria album in my 6th grade art class back then (had a cool teacher that let us play our tapes). Became a fan then.🥰

Did anyone else know that Ontario only allows Pap tests every 5 years now. That’s insane! My daughter just went for one and has to pay for it. This used to be covered annually. Fuck you @fordnation and @SylviaJonesMPP
There is a level of financial fear that comes with chronic illness that most healthy people never have to think about.
You’re paying more money to survive while your body is simultaneously making it harder to earn money.
Because eventually it’s not just symptoms you have to worry about.
Every flare up has consequences attached to it.
Missed work.
Reduced income.
Medical bills.
Recovery time.
Medications and copays.
People talk about chronic illness like it only affects health, but for a lot of people it slowly affects financial stability, independence, and your entire sense of security too.
I am what happens when you have a chronic illness but no family. It’s really just those two things as to why my life has led me to be living in a shelter. That’s it. But everyday, I’m treated like this was a choice, and therefor a punishment due to some moral failing. A chronic illness should never be able to uproot someone’s life like this. Proper medical intervention, family, support could have saved me, before everything fell apart. Now I am just treading water while my illness controls me, has stolen my life, has stolen who I am. This is not right. It never should have gotten this bad. I shouldn’t have lost *everything* to #mecfs. This is such a dangerous illness to have.
This post is infuriating.
I've been trying for 10 fucking years to find help, and @fordnation wants to claim we have "world class" care??? Are you fucking kidding?
Any reporters want to know the truth of our mental health care system, I got some shit to say.

The ONLY REASON to pass legislation on the FOI act is because you have something to hide. Making it retroactive means you have a lot to hide. @fordnation Doug Ford is corrupt.
@DiaryofaSickGrl Mine was very dismissive at first. Prescribed antidepressants before any tests, for a 11 month intractable headache at the time that made me pass out and caused transient blindness. Tried to guilt trip me over me having adverse reactions to several Rxs too. We get along now.
This is unconscionable @ONSocialService. What kind of incompetence is this? A woman is about to be evicted because of ODSP negligence. #onpoli@Jeff_Schlemmer_
Okay Ontario, this is where we’re at.
If the Doug Ford is limiting access to his cell phone and public record the response isn’t silence it’s action.
This goes to the core of our democracy.
And yes, there is a path forward.
Laws can be challenged in court under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. That’s how our system works. It starts with a legal challenge and, if necessary, it can go all the way to the Supreme Court of Canada.
Because no government is above the Constitution not even Doug Ford.
You know what makes life easier for patients @fordnation ?
Having a real call bell when you’re shoved in a hospital storage closet with a kid tweaking off drugs - instead we get Dollar Store rape whistles that don’t even work.
Fix what you broke first.
