Dana Pouwels, Head of Card Partnerships and Lounges for Chase Sapphire, described an airport trend that her team is aiming to upend with its newly launched Sapphire Lounge in Boston.
“You’re almost seeing extended revenge travel, call it ‘pent-up demand travel,’” says travel influencer Michelle Gonzalez. “People being … thankful and confident they can plan more travel.”
Travelers are being more deliberate in their planning, according to Gonzalez. “A lot of people are looking for ways to make their travel less stressful… it could be as easy as preordering a ride or using VIP services. Things that make your life easier.”

Andy Krantz, CEO of @paravel, agrees that travelers are looking to simplify. “We’ve found increased demand for our packing cubes, which have a similar effect to preordering a ride. The new luxury is ease and simplicity and not having to think about the next step.”
