So, it turns out the official English translation for “다섯이 더 행복했지” is “We were happier as five”.

A lot of fans thought T.O.P’s just missing the old days when all five of them were together, based on the not-official translation “The five of us were happier” by someone. But honestly, that misses a big part of the context.

The official translation actually nails it. Back then, the group of five felt way more right and complete, and genuinely happy, than during the last period after Seungri left. Losing a member hit hard, and the difference was huge.

So this line isn’t just nostalgic. It’s pointing out the contrast, showing how amazing things were when the team was whole versus the impact of losing someone. You can really feel how heavy that time was for him.
